AAPA responds to the Department of Health and Human Services

Leinweber The Department of Health and Human Services is proposing a rule to broadly expand health care providers and ancillary staff to refuse to perform health care services because of religious, moral, ethical, or other convictions. The Academy strongly objects to the proposed rule from HHS (Provider Conscience Regulation/ RIN 0991-AB48) and urges that it be withdrawn immediately, and has sent a letter signed by the Academy's CEO, Bill Leinweber to Secretary Leavitt voicing its objection.
